The 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26) will run from 31 October to 12 November in Glasgow, Scotland. The event will bring together governments from around the world, as well as leaders from across business, finance and civil society, to discuss and agree on accelerated climate action.
This COP summit is considered particularly important as it marks the fifth conference since the Paris Climate Agreement (COP21). With rising incidences of extreme weather worldwide – from devastating floods in Europe to catastrophic wildfires and storms in the US and beyond – and the latest IPCC report finding that human influence on climate change is “unequivocal”, millions of eyes globally will be on Glasgow as decision-makers convene.
Moody’s will be participating in COP26, engaging in a wide range of discussions to share our insights and expertise and support the call for collective effort from across the entire financial industry to address climate change. We will be speaking at a number of events, including the World Climate Summit and the Sustainable Innovation Forum. We will also have an exhibition booth, online and in-person, at the Sustainable Innovation Forum from 8-10 November.
